International Master in Composition for Screen
The 18th Festival International du Film d'Aubagne will present the third dissemination event of this Master devoted on the musical composition for screen.
International Creative Soundtracks Studies « ICSS » is a strategic partnership, which aim is to develop a joint programme in music composition for audiovisual media entitled « InMICS » (International Master in Composition for Screen). This partnership is composed of four Higher Education institutions known for their expertise in music composition for audiovisual media (Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon CNSMD (France), Conservatory GB Martini Bologne (Italy), HoGent School of Arts (Belgium, Faculté de Musique - Université de Montréal (Canada)) and four professional partners specialized in the film industry and showing a great interest in music creation (Festival International du Film d'Aubagne (France), Cineteca di Bologne (Italy), FilmFest Gent (Belgium) and Permission Inc. Montréal (Canada)).
The ICSS strategic partnership responds to various growing needs in the field of music composition for audiovisual media, which faces a great expansion nowadays.
The final outcome of the project is to develop a joint master’s degree, giving forthcoming students the chance to improve their skills and share their talents in a international environment. Students will be able to take the advantage of the excellent know-how, experiences and expertise of the eight partners involved in the project, balancing the contribution of both educational and professional structures.
The participation of North-American organizations in the project represents a great added value since it broadens the perspectives on numerous issues. Therefore our project shows a unique character, based on diversity and innovative practices. One of our goals is also to provide students with the opportunity to meet and work in collaboration with professionals in order for students to boost their employability and take part in an international network. This appears as a great need for students today.
