Nathaniel has participated in various workshops directed by well-known French films composers. He has composed many original TV and radio idents and themes for CineCinema, Paris Première, TF1 Jeunesse, France 3, Arte, Radio France… He also composed for advertising and short films.
Nathaniel Mechaly signed his first cinematic score in 2004 with Raphaël Nadjari 's film Avanim, and later Tehilim. He even went on to compose music for many other films including USHPIZIN (Holy Guests) by Gidi Dar, RREVOLVER by Guy Ritchie, LA BOITE NOIRE (The Black Box) by Richard Berry, THE SECRET by Vincent Pérez, LE DERNIER GANG (The Last Gang) by Ariel Zeitoun, TAKEN by Pierre Morel (music won 2 BMI Awards in London and L.A.), DOROTHY MILLS by Agnès Merlet, LA CHAMBRE DES MORTS (Chamber of Death) by Alfred Lot, TU N'AIMERAS POINT (Eyes Wide Open) by Haim Tabakman, and COLOMBIANA directed by Olivier Mégaton.
Nathaniel Méchaly is also an accomplished composer in music for theatre and contemporary dance. He wrote music for the ECO Dance Company (choreographer Emilio Calcagno) for the ballet Peau d'ane that opened at the Chaillot National Theatre in Paris, November 2012.
In 2012, Nathaniel completed the score for TAKEN II ( by Olivier Mégaton) and the music for TRANSPORTER - The series , directed by Brad Turner. Most recently he co-composed the score of the film THE GRANDMASTER directed by Wong Kar Wai, for witch he was granted a Best Composer Award at the 2014 Asian Film Festival, as well as a Best Original Music Award at the 2014 Hong-Kong Film Festival, after completing the score of ANGELIQUE directed by Ariel Zeitoun.
In 2014, Nathaniel wrote the music of the TAXI : BROOKLYN Tv show, the one of Jean Becker’s new feature film BON RÉTABLISSEMENT, as well as the original score of the second season of TRANSPORTER - The Series . More recently, Nathaniel collaborated once again with director Olivier Mégaton while composing the original music of TAKEN III and has composed the music of A PURE LIFE, a feature film directed by Jérémy Banster to be released in 2015.
